nyc day 2: nutrition

I started the day waking up at 6:0oam, browsing my phone, and eventually clocking into work at 7:42am. I'm still working at ASM until June 7th, so today was accruing revenue for our demo revenue and online grocery pickup revenue streams.

After working for a couple hours, I got hungry and walked to this cute café called Pause Café for a $14 chicken avocado sandwich. The café was decorated with an artsy dark brown aesthetic and a lot of the seats were already filled with people working. The sandwich was quite delicious, but somewhat small. I ate it there and walked back to the apartment to finish more work.

After working some more, it was already lunch. I walked again to find another place to eat and ended up at this bagel shop, which had a lot of fish and pastries. The inside looked like See's Candies except the left side was full off fish, bagels, and interesting side dishes. Honestly not sure what kind of food it was, but I heard someone saying the place was Jewish.

I grabbed an everything bagel with salmon and lox and a cream soda for $20. In that moment, I knew I desparately needed to find a grocery store. My money is going to go very quickly if I keep eating like this.

I went back, finished up work, and immediately headed to Trader Joe's. I picked up my usual foods like blueberries, chicken thighs, red potatoes, and broccoli, as well as snacks and seasonings. Unfortunately, they did not have lemon pepper so my chicken and potatoes were not that flavorful but I will go on a hunt for lemon pepper tomorrow.

After cooking dinner, I talked with my two potential roommates, Robert and Anderson, which went very well and seems like we are all on the same page about finding an apartment. After that, I just opted to stay in and relax.

It's been a very chill day and I'm happy with that. I've been a lot more keen with my spending since I know I'm going to be paying rent. So I've decided to track my spending at the end of every day and put it at the bottom of each blog. Going back to the first night and adding this too.
