nyc day 11: inspiration

nyc day 11: inspiration

today ended on the highest note i've had since being in nyc

the start of the day was mundane, but a lot of my time here the last couple days have been mundane. but that's okay. i woke up, tried to get a library card for free access to the museums here but forgot my proof of address, so i came back home and chilled.

i watched tik toks, got more groceries, and pondered about my life, decisions, and where i want to be. a lot of those feelings were in my other post today. i was feeling a bit better about myself and felt great when talking to my mom, mikee, frank, and jeremy. from those conversations, i feel blessed to have such a great family and amazing group of best friends. i love you all <3

but after chatting it up, i was inspired by march to go out by myself. i booked a 9:40 ticket for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Let me tell you, that movie was inspirational. Not only was it beautiful; the color pallet, exquisite use of layered art styles, exciting twists and tie-ins, great character depth and perspectives, and relatable messaging, especially watching it while living in new york city. It was special. By far, the best superhero movie I've ever seen, and one of the best movies I've ever seen.

The messaging inspired me to adventure, get out of my comfort zone, and do what's important to me. It's not what I needed, but the storytelling reminded me of a different perspective of life. a life filled with stories and not checklists. we'll be going out tomorrow, stay tuned.
