starting a gratitude journal to be happier (hopefully)

in practice of being happier: today I felt like doing a gratitude journal of three things that I appreciated

  1. I'm grateful for my roommate Anderson. Today after I got home from work, we talked like we always do. He was going on a run and I stayed back to eat before we both hit the gym. After doing the dishes, I noticed he took out the recycling that I left on the floor. It's dope and appreciated to have a good roommate. thanks lil bro
  2. I'm grateful for my occupation. I strolled into work today and talk to one of my managers, Amy, that I sit next to. We chat it up and have a laugh, when our managing partner, Ryan, tells us there's breakfast that's free game. Later in the day, Amy asks me if I brought lunch because Ryan said there's leftover Cuban food for lunch! Good food, good people, and a good culture. I want get out of a negative connotation with work because my attitude not happy lately. Especially because I enjoy working hard, I just have to get over that original hump
  3. I'm grateful for my health. Often times, I take my young able body for granted. Who wouldn't when you're fine 99% of the time. On Sunday, I hit leg day for the first time in eons. These last two days, my legs have been dead. I've been walking up and down stairs like an 80 year old grandpa. The railing is my best friend and elevation is my arch nemesis. I'm thankful I can normally just navigate life with no worries.

I want to do this at least weekly. Often times I forget the good things since there are so many. Here's to being happy!
