49: skatepark & delicious cookies
i've learned another skill today: dropping in.
today was not raining and humid, just humid. so it was a perfect day to go skate. i found a skatepark in brooklyn good for beginners so i headed over there in the morning. i pulled up to the skatepark and it was indeed beginner friendly. there were a whole bunch of little kids also learning to skate in the park.
i practiced dropping in on this super small ramp which took me like 10 times to get right but i eventually did! skilled acquired. it's hilarious how skating seems while you're doing it, but the ramp was like a foot and a half tall. i also practiced skating switch on the little ramps and eventually got to dropping in on larger ramps. the little kids who were doing it also gave me motivation. there were literally 5 year olds shredding them so i had to at least match them.
i then tried to do a trick on a stair and ended up smacking the heck out of my shin and yelled a verbal "ouch!" shoutout to the 10 year old boy who asked me if i was okay. i was. thank you for your support
i left and skated to the pier which was absolutely beautiful seeing the skyline from dumbo. the skyline is just so immaculate. i eventually left, got to the subway station which was closed, went to another subway station but went the other direction, got to that other station and was lost, found out that the map was wrong from a construction worker after 15 minutes of searching, and finally got home.
after resting, i went to target and picked up dry measuring cups for the cookies and baby wipes because i'm always so sweaty. from the humidity. i got home and chilled a little bit more and left again to go to Home Depot! i needed some command hooks for my lantern that got delivered from Amazon today. I ordered some command hooks on Amazon and they said they were delivered so i either threw them away or someone stole them. no biggie.
got home and set up the lantern and my room is one step closer to being complete!
after getting the lantern set up, i made and baked the new batch of cookies using the exact measurements. boy that were delicious. honestly delicious doesn't do them justice. they were scrumdiddlydumptious. i'm literally a baker now. and that's all folks.
